    National Museum 6:14 PM

Japanese Film Festival: 15 to 23 September 2007

Too bad, I only found out about it ytd. Made a trip to National Museum to watch the award-winning documentary, Abduction - The Megumi Yokota Story.

    It is about...

"... a Japanese girl kidnapped by North Korean spies. The film, produced by Jane Campion, is told through the eyes of the girl's mother and father who have been searching for her for nearly three decades..." -- 8 Days

According to the documentary, many people from all over the world were kidnapped by North Korean(NK). Including 1 Singaporean! NK only admitted the act after Japanese threatened not to sent aids to their country. To resolve this, they only admitted to have abducted 13 japaneses. The actually figure would be bigger than this. Only 5 out of 13 were sent by to Japan. The rests were said to have died.

The reason(according to documentary) of the abduction is NK wanted these pple to teach them diff language and culture. So they could blend into diff countries to carry out their terrorist act.

It's heartbreaking to see parents still crying for their children after 30++ yrs and refused to believe they are dead.

Beside the documentary, there are a lot of exhibitions going on. Visited the Food and The Prince of Gown exhibitions. Some might need to pay for an amount of $5 to $10 to go in. But we only visited those free ones! hehe~

Highhly recommended to make a trip down. The place is near Dhoby Ghaut, actually quite accessible. :) It will be useful to check the website first for upcoming events. :D *Thumb up!*
