    2e3 class gathering 11:45 AM

Second time organised a class gathering. Again at Vila'ge. haha~ Boring? But I think it's the best place for gathering. (1) There are big tables tt can accommodate up to 12 person. (2) Large varieties of food. (3) And nt so noisy as compared to steamboat (Yummy, steamboat!!!) at Bugis or Marine Bay. Easier to chit chat this way.

I realised tt they striked off the min amt system. There are no more chops tt stated the min amt to spend which they had in the past.

10 person turned up! As expected, some pple "put airplane". Anyway, it's better to have smaller grp too, a bigger group might be harder to talk. :)

But... some did not even bother to inform us that they were not coming. hmmm...

Shared food with Mei so we can try 2 main courses. :) My new fav to recommend: Baked rice! Yummy!!!

8 yr since Sec 2! OMG! But everyone looks better. :D

On the way home, we gals took more pic on the train! haha~ Shall upload them once I get it. :D

    Wei, send me! hehe~

Sushi n Supreme Court updates! 12:09 AM

    Morning:

Woke up early, started to make sushi since 9 a.m! Cos dajie's coming bk tonight. And since I'm at home, we decided to celebrate mooncake festival as well. A bit too old for it ya? Haha~ The reason y have to start so early was bcos i need to leave house by 1+ to go for forensic supreme court tour! hehe~ Fall on the same day so no choice.

    Ingredient ready to start!
I prepared everything myself wor! Especially proud of the egg on the left! It's made of 5 eggs. For japanese, their egg is a bit sweet so I have to add sugar to it. But adding sugar will fasten the process of the egg turning brown. I was extra carefully today... Keep flipping. It turned up perfectly done (golden brown oh!) Mum oso said it's nice too. :)

    Left-top to right bottom:

Pic 1: My sushi got crab stick, cucumber, egg n prawn. Short of brown radish... I forgot to buy so a bit bland. I tried to make it triangular. Can u see?

Pic 2: Onigiri(小饭团) with tuna fillings. hehe~ I love to make onigiri. It's a challenge to stuff as much tuna inside as possible.

    Pic 3: Salad

Pic 4: Sweet corn sushi. V uneven... haha~ This is the 2nd try. Will try to perfect it in the future.

My sushi isn't v special. but need a lot of effort (+ money and time) to prepare! Mum said eat it's better(a bit troublesome la. ;p) and cheaper to eat outside. o_O Mum helped to cut those sushi into even pieces. hehe~

    =============================================================

    Afternoon:

First time visiting the new Supreme Court Building. It consists of high and appeal courts. It's just a short 1 hr tour. We visited one medium-sized high court n an appeal court. We were allowed to sit anywhere in both courts, including Accused area! haha~ The new buliding looks like an UFO. haha~ U can see the "UFO" from far. All the courts are v high-tech! Fully equiped with devices like video conferencing, recording tools etc.

We also visited the 2nd highest storey of the buliding. This is where we could see the nice view of the surrounding. The storey is filled with glass panel tt we could see explanade, old supreme court from there. :)

Before we left, we were told tt we could go for a court hearing (Murder case) which was going on at tt time. So we went but got really bored after a while. haha~ The witness was a Malay... He needed an interpreter to translate lawyer's qns for him. So 1 simple qn can take v long! And everyone sounds v bored, lawyers were not as aggressive as seen in drama series. haha~ We sat in for 10 min and left. ;p

I will try to upload pic in Supreme court asap... :D

    Pi, I want photos! ;p

Supreme Court Building! See the "UFO"? hehe~

    Nice view... :)

Me and Shinney... I look so fat in jeans! :'( Can't wear skirt. Must in "proper" attire. ;p

    Chevy, me and Shinney!

    National Museum 6:14 PM

Japanese Film Festival: 15 to 23 September 2007

Too bad, I only found out about it ytd. Made a trip to National Museum to watch the award-winning documentary, Abduction - The Megumi Yokota Story.

    It is about...

"... a Japanese girl kidnapped by North Korean spies. The film, produced by Jane Campion, is told through the eyes of the girl's mother and father who have been searching for her for nearly three decades..." -- 8 Days

According to the documentary, many people from all over the world were kidnapped by North Korean(NK). Including 1 Singaporean! NK only admitted the act after Japanese threatened not to sent aids to their country. To resolve this, they only admitted to have abducted 13 japaneses. The actually figure would be bigger than this. Only 5 out of 13 were sent by to Japan. The rests were said to have died.

The reason(according to documentary) of the abduction is NK wanted these pple to teach them diff language and culture. So they could blend into diff countries to carry out their terrorist act.

It's heartbreaking to see parents still crying for their children after 30++ yrs and refused to believe they are dead.

Beside the documentary, there are a lot of exhibitions going on. Visited the Food and The Prince of Gown exhibitions. Some might need to pay for an amount of $5 to $10 to go in. But we only visited those free ones! hehe~

Highhly recommended to make a trip down. The place is near Dhoby Ghaut, actually quite accessible. :) It will be useful to check the website first for upcoming events. :D *Thumb up!*

    9:59 PM

    Ytd was a lousy day.

Jap test was difficult... Especially the listening part.. I was too easily affected. Missed one qn made me lose mood to continue or concentrate for the rest of the paper. Not good... I have studied for it! It's all in my mind. I know I would have done better if I handled it better. That is one of the reasons y I never did v well for exam...

Then at night, I attended forensic practical. We were supposed to do fingerprint lifting. Sound fun. But due to the little setback (jap test), I wasn't in the mood for the practical. Worse still... Stupid me, I forgot to wear covered shoes despite Pi reminded me b4 practical! Have to thank mel for helping me take my shoes so I wasn't late for the practical. ;p

We were to use 2 methods for the practical: Black fingerprint powder and Magnetic powder. Before that, we need to prepare samples(15, 10, 5 days before) to compare effects of old and fresh prints with the 2 types of powder. :)

One happier thing of the day, I found a new fren! hehe~ The gal who told me I wasn't wearing covered shoes which I had totally forgotten. -_- And she borrowed a hair band for me to tie my long hair. haha~ But diff group, so didn't get to do the practical with her. Hope to see her in lecture. :D

    3:21 PM

So fast, 1 yr since I first(one and only time) donated blood. Now it's the time! I feel like donating blood again. :)

Scary experience. Whenever I'm nervous or wat, I will giggle non-stop. Which... I did tt time. haha~ But I didn't back out wor! So proud of myself. It's so meaningful. :D

Told bin I wanna donate blood. She said she wanna go too... One of her reason is bcos she dun know her blood type yet! :O Surprisingly, many of my foreign fren dun know their blood type! And we(singaporean) already know ours since sec sch (or is it pri?).

Anyway, watever reason it is... Anyone wanna join us for blood donation? haha~ 3 Oct to 5 Oct, the week after term break. Bin n I most probaby will go on fri. :D

Mel said I look sad today... For obvious reason... I feel v troubled these days.

    算了,决定就不要后悔!‘后悔’不在我的字典里。。。

Decision made for a better future. :) Everything is just part and parcel of my life. I believe if things can't be changed then learn to live with it. Have to love myself more. Jiayou! ;P

    OMG 11:23 PM

As usual, I wash my clothes every Sunday night. I had a shock today when I opened the washing machine lid just now. I saw a pair of sport shoes inside. -_-

I think my clothes are quite clean whenever I put them into the washing machine. Other than jeans, most of my tops I would wash after I wore once. Some I only wore to sleep... And sport shoes is something tt u usually wash after some time or when it becomes really dirty.

Somemore, the person washed the sport shoes together with some of her clothes. Well, even if u wash ur shoes regularly, it will still dirty! U wear it everywhere, including toilet, right? -_-''''

    Another day... 10:43 PM

Went out for dinner to celebrate daddy's bday. Then shopped for a while before going home. I bought a vintage bag that I have been looking for! Dun know whether it is called vintage... I googled vintage bag but it didn't show the type of bags I'm refering to.

    So this is it -->

    Nice?

We stayed quite long in the shop, choosing the bag. Cos jiejies, ma, pa n eugene were busy helping me pick the bag which they feel suit me the most. But everyone thinks differently. haha~ Funny, I kept trying on different bags to see which is nicer. But in the end I picked this over the pink one who dajie feel suit me more. Beige easier to match clothes mah.

My face looks BIG in pic... hai~ Fat me. :(

Another pic of my bag n new hp pouch. :D

    Ok, enough shopping. ;p

    わたしは 水曜日が きらいです!!! 10:23 PM

For those who dun understand, it means I HATE WEDNESDAY!!!

Wed is the most stressful day of the week. No doubt, I do love jap classes(especially ナガミsensei's wed tutorial :D ). But there are a lot of preparation work to do.

Tutorial always come with vocabulary quiz though it's not tt difficult but I took quite some time to memorise. Then there is oso a lecture quiz for every wed lecture. So almost every wed, there are two quizzes... I oso need to read beforehand for the lecture so I won't be too lost (which I always am. :X)...

But PASSION is the word! There is no regret. At least it adds some 'colour' to my last sem. :D

What I really hate is Chinese tuition! :S I'm giving tuition to two Arabians sisters, Pri 1 & K1, every wed. It's their third language which means they dun know chinese at all... I was asked to teach them 'basic' chinese, dun have to follow the school syllabus cos it's too difficult for them! The task sounded simple but it actually means I have to prepare my own material!!! I bought pre-school assignment books for them but their mum complained it's too difficult. :S

I realised pri sch syllabus is meant for chinese-speaking students. Not for them! They not only have short span of concentration time. They can hardly read n write (even words like 是,太, 很 are alien to them!) basic strokes and simple words. I always end up teaching them vocabulary.

The worst thing is... their mum always sits in for every session. Watching everything I did and commented on my teaching method. Sometime I have to write (on spot) hanyu pinyin for words tt I'm totally unprepared. So that she can coach them when i'm not around.... Long time since I last touched Chinese, 6 yrs since O level! Stress...

Even if she didn't say anything, my conscience would bother me. I really can't teach them. I just dun know how to teach a foreign language to someone who does not have any contact with the language at all. I can't! I dun know how...

Quitting crossed my mind.. I think I really should!

    12:39 AM

Today, I rushed to finish my jap hw. But later than wat I aimed, I aimed to finish by sat. Anyway, at least I finished. :)

Jap has taken up most of my time. We are "forced" to study everyday. Every mon, wed n fri got jap classes, how can I not study leh... But I'm still not v gd at it. :X Although it takes up a lot of time, I'm v happy to learn a new language. Feel accomplished after every classes. :D
    .
    .
    .

I want to live more healthily. What I mean healthy is to eat every meal regularly, choose properly wat I eat at a moderate amount, sleep early and exercise!

So less fried food(oops... just ate Mac nuggets today. -_-), unhealthy snacks (like potato chips) and drinks(byebye to Coke...) for me.

I try to take breakfast every morning! Which means I have to wake up latest by 830! Bcos they will stop serving breakfast at 9. And I got a new responsibility! I have to wake Mel up every morning to go breakfast with me. haha~ In the past I'm the one who always couldn't wake up. :P

On top of eating regular meals, I have to try eat less! Wanna lose weight, I feel fat. :'(

Sleep early... haha~ hmm... Try to sleep by 12? eeehhhhh... Starting from tml.

Lastly, exercise!!! This is my plan:
    Jogging: Sun and Fri
    Blading: Sat and Sun
    And...
    Maybe...

    Volleyball: Thurs

Anyone wanna join me for any of the above sports? :D

Wow~ Like tt I will exercise 5 times per week!!! haha~ Tell u if I really keep up to the schedule. Too early to tell. :X

    12:07 AM

Today, my whole family went Cineleisure to watch FilmFest by New Media Art (Innova JC). My dajie is one of the teachers in-charge so we got to know about it. The FilmFest is made up of 4 short videos produced by the students. Each is around 15 min.

It's free seating. I didn't know the tickets actually costs $10 each. :X

The other time free seating was during Year 1, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I actually won the ticket with Ren... BUT... We didn't sit together. haha~ There are seat nos. to our won tickets (we are supposed to sit together) but no one followed since the whole theatre was booked by SoC.

Back to FilmFest... It's quite a typical school production... Well... the students are not professional so have to give some credits... haha~ Some storylines are quite kiddy n some parts I couldn't make out wat they said. Think it will be better with subtitles.

But there are oso some impressive parts. Like the last video... It's made filmed in Taiwan. The only chinese video out of the 4. It's quite professionally filmed. Though some parts are quite draggy n a bit "qiong yao". :X haha~

Found the website of New Media Arts. They have podcast too. ;)

    10:13 AM

Long time never write blog le! Busy? I think I'm too inefficient which makes myself so stress n 'busy'. People use 1 hr to complete a task, I need 2. -_- And the temptation to watch anime n drama, lie on my bed(blah blah) are killing me.

Anyway, I rebonded my hair at Malaysia! Went Malaysia with Shin, Mel n Bee on sat. Shin n Mel dyed their hair purple n dyed-n-bleach their fringe BRIGHT orange. haha~ But in the end, Mel cannot accept the bright orange n DIY dyed her fringe back black. -_- haha~ Waste money.

Quite satisfied with my hair. My rebonding is cheap and good condition. Can't stand my old hairstyle. :S

And everytime go Malaysia, it's a must to eat seafood! Yummy...

Got prawn, squid, chicken, veggie... AND...

    CHILLI CRAB! Yummy...

This amount of food for only 4 person! Haha~ There goes my diet plan. My fav is the squid! *Drool*

    Pic of my new hairstyle...

Pic 1 : One good thing about staying in Woodlands is that I have direct bus to go home. hehe~ Took the first pic when the bus stopped at Woodlands Interchange before sending me bk home. hehe~ But a bit blur.

Pic 2: Took at home... Notice my Little Miss Bossy tee? :D

    Lastly, a close up pic....

Ok, enough before u all puke. :p
