Waraku de Pasta... Yummy!!!
10:30 PM Festivals n holiday are good excuses to gather with fren n family and have a good feast. But when these supposed-to-be-occasional feasts come too often, it may bring horrifying effect. I have been 'overeating' these days with xmas, new yr, cny, sec sch/uni gatherings lining up. Double chin seems to have becoming more visible. Must diet le. :'( Went to Marina Square's Pasta de Waraku! We booked beforehand as it's often v crowded when we walked past during shopping trips. But strangely, tt day we booked but it's rather empty. -_- Only a few pple were waiting outside the restaurant. Yes, still need to wait for those who didn't book. :) The idea of Pasta de Waraku is to cook italian pasta in japanese way. I love pasta so decided to give it a try. The menu was flooded with pasta(afterall, it's a pasta restaurant), a bit hard to make the choice. After much discussion, we decided to narrow down the options. By cancelling out those choices tt seem common so cream n tomato sause pasta are out. haha~ :p Then we decided to choose one soup pasta set(first time try soup pasta!) n one pasta with wara sauce(house sauce). hehe~ The soup pasta set comes with macaroni gratin, corn soup n salad. The corn soup was a little too sweet for me. I liked the salad. Gratin was quite nice too. But a little too cheesy if u eat it alone. We shared :) Spinach n bacon soup pasta. The soup is made of light cream n spinach. Quite nice but it tastes like some chinese cuisine instead of japanese/intalian. My mushroom prawn pasta(house sauce). I love this. :) The prawns were fresh. And there were generous amt of shitake, golden mushroom n seaweed inside too. Yummy! Then we shared the strawberry ice-cream. :P Photo posed with the yummy ice cream. hehe~ Highly recommended this restaurant to pasta lovers. :) There is another Waraku restaurant at Level 1 of Marina Square which serves traditional japanese cuisine. So if u wanna try the pasta, have to visit the second floor. :D Thursday, February 14, 2008
11:37 PM If everything goes smooth, I will be joining Siemens as their Software Engineer soon. My first full time job. :) These days, I am busy catching up with fren, shopping for clothes, watching movie, occasionally high tea-ing or sometimes just stay at home whole day sleeping, watching repeated drama series n chatting with my mum. Sound like Tai tai hor? Except that I'm not rich. haha~ Just happily enjoy myself before I officially start working. :p Ytd watched 'The Kite Runner' with Wei. Nice movie! I was too lazy to read the sypnosis before the movie n just went for the movie recommended by Wei(her fren recommended her. hehe~) It becomes a gift if u didn't read the sypnosis before a movie n the movie turns up nice. :D And I glad I didn't read it beforehand. *Thumb up* But if u just watched Atonement, u will find similarities btn both movies (though different background). So I won't recommend to watch both on 2 consecutive days. Which is a better choice? hmm... If u r a gal, maybe u can go for Atonement. The movie finished with a nice twist. On the other hand, guys can go for 'The Kite Runner'. But on the 2nd thought, I think I prefer 'The Kite Runner'. haha~ More action. So u make ur choice. ;) I oso went Sentosa Flower 2008 on Tues. Flowers brightened up my day... :D For those who didn't go can take a look at the 'many' photos I took. :p Started off with a gigantic burger from Carl Jr which keeps me The plant which fruit(or flower?) resembles of rat's head. hmm.. Dun know y I got a bit excited when I see these radishs! Maybe bcos it's the only edible type of plant recognised by me. haha~ Bed of roses! Red, one of my fav color. :D Saw this 'flower' and 'chased' quite a distance b4 I finally got her to take the photo with me. Fav photo of the day. :D Caterpillar... Their heads can move. Butterfly Hug the pineapple Swan near the Merlion Tiring day but had a lot of fun! hehe~ Interested can make a trip down to Sentosa before 17th (last day). Saturday, February 2, 2008
Steamboat addict
5:52 PM I have this steamboat crave almost every 2 weeks. Which sometime left me a little unhappy, disappointed and moody(haha~ ok, a bit exaggerated) if I didn't get my way. So much so that I have to classify this crave as addict! This New Year Eve dinner, we will be eating out. Buffet. Booked. The happiest person is my mum cos she doesn't have to go through the steamboat preparation process which she hates. haha~ And the saddest person is me. Cos I'm always looking forward to STEAMBOAT. I couldn't help let out a disappointed "So no steamboat this year?" with a a-little disappointed face (ok, I'm spoiled. hehe~ 该打 :P But I never insisted to have steamboat la. haha~). My hao dajie who overheard it, invited me to her house for steamboat last week instead. hehe~ Only 2 of us cos my bro in-law wasn't at home tt day. There weren't a lot of ingredients but it's still v nice n I'm touched. haha~ Thanks ar! Why it happened last week n now then I post an entry about it? Bcos currently I'm craving for steamboat once AGAIN! :p haha~ |
