My life album

Had a nice Cod Fish Feast with my family ytd as a pre celebration for my bday. hehe~ And I used my money to pay the bill. Yes, my own money! hehe~ Finally I can support myself but still have to budget abit before I cleared my loan. Have to stick closely to my budget plan to save n probably can invest in the future. :D

Long time nv shopping cos had to keep to budget when I was a student. My best practise to save money is not shop at all! Just keep to occasional either lunch + long chit-chat session or movie lunch + long chit-chat session. Cos the damage to shopping can b larger than abovementioned. haha~

Today went Shokudo with Wei, Pi n Mei. Before the gathering, I did some research about the restaurant. Shokudo actually has a lot of restaurants under it, targeting to diff customers. Like Waruka, it oso have prata restaurants n traditional jap food restaurants which some r targeting at the higher income customers. Today we went Shokudo Food Bazzar Restaurant which operates like Marche. We were given a card each and went to different stalls to get our food. Then only paid before we left.

Some of the food were cheaper while others are were ex. I ordered Spicy seafood hotpot n Mango dessert to share with Wei. The hotpot didn't come with rice or udon, only clear soup n seafood. So if u r looking for a filling meal, it's not a gd choice. Wei n Pi ordered curry rice which I felt were priced quite reasonably. And Mei ordered fried rice which was too small a portion.

After tt we went shopping. And I decided not to go shopping again! At least not so soon. haha~ I bought 3 tops! Mei bought a pair of shoes. After that, we went KFC for dinner. Wanted to get the free doraemon(haha~ ok, I know it's childish. :p ) stationery set tt comes with Chicky(kid's) meal. haha~ But changed my mind after seeing the how miserable the portion of a Chicky meal n how tiny the stationary sets are. Imagine I have to eat 4 Chicky meals to complete the collection tt doesn't look too attractive! haha~

Then went to check out Amore package with Mei. :)

Nice meeting up with the gals after a long time. :D

Everyday I will walk super fast home. Can't wait to lie on my comfortable couch.

Same for today... :) I was taking the lift home with a little gal(3-4 yrs old), her mum n her maid. I walked into the lift then turned to face them. The next thing I knew the little gal held her hands to her ears n mumbled something tt I couldn't make up wat she said. And she gave me tt same old innocent look tt I couldn't tell she's happy or sad.

Then her mum laughed n explained to me tt the little gal thought tt I'm a teacher. And wat she'd been mumbling is actually "Don't beat me" -_-

Yes! She's actually scared of teachers!

Thought kids only scared of police? Cos parents always threatened them with police to end their mischievous acts. But they didn't know tt they actually should scared of baddies instead of polices who catch the baddies(them!)... haha~

I dun know whether I should laugh or not. Hope I look like a fashionable teacher. haha~ At least...

Value Money 11:29 PM

I worked up my 2008 Estimation Account n realised that actually I do not have much money to spend!

Decided to be more organised so as to better control my own financial (hehe~), I worked up an account using excel. And above is the conclusion I gathered. U will b too shocked if u see the expected saving figures. It's too little! :'(

More than half of my money goes to tuition loan every mth. Yes, this is how BIG the amount as I choose to repay more every mth so I will be free of debt sooner.

Apart from tt, I oso set an amount for enrichment. Planning to take some courses of interest or courses benefit to my career. :) Anyone wanna take jap? inline skating? makeup? violin??? haha~ Currently, the list is more of interests currently as I decided to relax for a yr b4 taking other work related courses.

Then another amount for shopping trips n entertainment. And an amount for lunch n transport which are more or less fixed, I can squeeze the budget for there.

hai~

haha~ Definitely I will value money more after I started working. :p

Orientation 2:43 PM

Attended orientation. Over 10++ departments presented to us(newbies) about various department functions. Really eyes-opening experiences, especially for the plants tour. :D Some speakers were more interesting that really grabbed our attention throughout the whole presentation. Others just gave a brief intro of 10 min.

My fav will be my dept, manufacturing n audiologists. :D It's a pity tt audiology is not offered in Singapore. I think it's a v interesting n specialised area to study. As it's not offered here, all audiologists I met are foreigners. And glad tt I chose my company cos I got to meet these nice pple. I will always tend to dump them with questions due to my curiosity. Have to resist the temption cos I dun act so 'shun-gu'(dun know how to spell... anyway, hokkien dun really have a proper method to spell, right? haha~).

The orientation oso reminded me y I initially chose my company which I have gradually forgotten as time goes by. And I think I made the right choice. :D

Finally got my employee's pass ytd! It's a smart card with my face, name n a clipper so as to clip it onto my clothes. Before it's done, I only carried my access card around to scan open the office door. And v often I will forget to bring it along to toliet. -_- Once I went toliet n forgot to bring my access card along... have to help until a colleague walked by.. paiseh... haha~

Heard from other colleague, sometimes have to wait a longer time for the card to be issued to new employee(2 weeks is already v fast). Bcos they usually wait for more new pple to come in n make in batch.

Anyway, feel more like a full time staff now with the card. :D Hope can upload a photo of it here soon. :D

Think I will feel better after 3 mth probation. hehe~ That day my colleagues were sending their namecard for printing. I went to kpo... haha~ But another colleague said I have to wait till after probation before i can send my namecard for printing. Hope can get one soon then I can start distributing. :p muahaha~ j.k...

Updates 10:30 PM

Worked for almost 2 weeks. :D Still undergoing training and going for orientation etc. My training includes reading doc n self-learning applications which I need to use in the future.

My workplace is v 'multinational'.. There are pple from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, India etc! hehe~ And we usually have lunch together in a big group of about 10 pple. People are friendly. :D But I'm not v gd at networking, tend to become too quiet with strangers. :p Still adapting. ;)

Everyday is a long n tiring day. Have to wake up at 6.30(!!!) to prepare n travel to work. Try to slp by 12 everyday. :p

Other than working, I oso attended Quarterly Staff Meeting n bday celebrations(quite often). For the 2 weeks, we had 1 cake-cutting session each week.

My new fren said it's rated 4.5 stars. If u are hoping to watch something diff, this will be the choice. :D Another thing, the ticket is more expensive than normal movie tickets as it only showing at Vivocity, Europa threatre. Though I feel there is not much diff from other theatres. haha~ It's $10 per ticket for everyday(I think...).
